This was the one problem I had with pojwI'. I used the data
file for it to compare with my AKD, sending Holtej all the
differences that I could find, and since the system does not
note the source for any of the words, any time he had a word
that I didn't have, I couldn't use it. It left me with a set of
words to try to find elsewhere, but I didn't want to wind up
with words in my AKD that were not actually from Okrand, unless
it was a proper name.
For the uninitiated, my AKD is a large Microsoft Word file that
has all the words from every Okrand source I can find, noting
the source, resolving differences between the English-Klingon
and Klingon-English sides by noting omissions in both sides. I
also intended to enter all canon useage for each word, but I've
instead decided to use Microsoft Access to build a relational
database for that. So far, I've copied and pasted 1,563 words
and their data into the database (I think I'm up to "w") and
after the last hundred or so words, I get to start entering all
the canon examples and linking them to all the root words and
affixes.
Everybody needs a hobby, right?
