I think that it works even better than the original!
In the Klingon you have used the suffix {-pu'} while the English sentence
is written in simple past tense.  They're NOT the same thing.  What you've
said in Klingon is one of these:
"I have eaten half the tart and half remains."
"I had eaten half the tart and half remained."
"I will have eaten half the tart and half will remain."
Whatever the time involved, by saying {vISoppu'} you are indicating that
the eating took place before the time mentioned by the sentence, which is
perfect.
