Hello all. I thought I might introduce myself again, this time in
in Federation Standard, since my tlhIngan Hol is still so limited.
I'm a life-long Trekker with an interest in linguistics, so tlhIngan
Hol is a natural hobby for me. :-) I don't really have a tlhIngan
personna as yet. I currently play a Bajoran in a RPG (Lt. Commander
Gwen Joran, Science Officer of the USS Jupiter, in the Neutral Zone
EchoNet's RPG). I might create a tlhIngan personna for my next RPG,
though.
My interests include Star Trek, science fiction/fantasy, folk music,
linguistics, and computers (of course), especially programming. I'm
currently learning C and am working on a tlhIngan Hol vocabulary
tutor so I can learn tlhIngan Hol faster.
I'm married & have two lovely kittens. <g> My husband's name is
David. The cats are Miss Pie and Atilla the Hun (both female, with
personalities the reverse of what one might expect from their
names).
BTW, as soon as I get more proficient in tlhIngan Hol, I'd like to
try translating some folk songs into tlhIngan Hol. Anybody else
interested in English/Scottish folk songs? I think "Dowie Dens O'
Yarrow" and "The Outlandish Knight" might translate well, but I have
to do "Tam Lin" and "Thomas Rhymer" first, since they are my
favorites. Is there a tlhIngan equivalent to faerie? I don't know
much about tlhIngan mythology.
Qapla'
