re: To upload or not to upload



Presumably those who already own the paper dictionary are free to pass
uploaded versions of its information to each other?  It is unfortunate that
copyright concerns should make it difficult for people to share their
on-line aids.  Have Okrand or Simon & Schuster been asked for permission to
freely distribute word-lists?  Failing that, the only solution I can think
of is to have a secret ftp archive, accessible through a password to be
made known only to those who can convince its administrator that they have
bought the dictionary.  But this might not be practical.
