: It is; I posts 'em as I sees 'em. Near as I can tell, it means "to perform
: the sex act". Note that it seems to be formed with the "-chuq" (each
: other) suffix on a (presumably obsolete) root "*nga'". This would be
: consistent with the cryptic parenthetical comment, whisch would mean that
: to say that Kang had sex with Mara, one should write "nga'chuq qang mara
: je", i.e. with both members as subject, neither as object.
Essentially, then, we can assume that *nga' means
{have_sexual_intercourse_with; f***} (sorry about the vulgarity -- it was the
best word I could think of: it's to the point and Zipfeanly short), but that
it's always used with -chuq.
While we're at it, a question about Klingon names: is there a listing anywhere
of which are masculine and which are feminine (or can all names be used for
both genders, consistent with ghaH? Perhaps there is a set of names for
language-users and another for non-language-users? ;> ) ? The listing in TKD
makes no mention of gender, but simply lumps them all together (and BTW,
according to that list, Kang=qeng, not qang).
