I think the moral of this story is that some nouns can modify other nouns in a very adjectival way, and still be nouns.
By the way, this is just another example of the genitive noun-noun construction (TKD §3.4). {latlh tlhIngan} "additional-one Klingon," as distinguished from the Klingon I was first talking about, the "first-one Klingon."
