ghItlhpu' naHQun, jatlh:<br>&gt; Not surprisingly, we don't have any words for magic, wizards, witches, et cetera.<br><br>I had to deal with the supernatural to an extent in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, but not to a degree that required me to press outside the boundaries of the vocabulary we have.<br><br>The problem with conceptions of the supernatural is that they differ so widely from culture to culture even on Earth, and Klingon conceptions of what magic is may not match with ours at all. They may view magic as the manifestation of some other power, maybe as possession by HoSDo', maybe as the power of one's spirit (qa' HoS) or the spirit of someone else (qeylIS HoS, veqlargh HoS), or such.<br><br>In practice, that's what I've gone with the few times I've had to talk about magic in Klingon; I've just riffed on things like HoS Huj "strange powers", and talked a lot about qa'pu', HoSDo', and nIyma'mey.<br><br>QeS<br> 		 	   		  </div></body>
