I have in a note which says "penum. for {DIS} + {jar} or {DIS} +
{jaj}". I think the first word is "penum.", but I can't think of a
linguistics term which begins with those letters, and it's possible I
copied that incorrectly from somewhere.

Is there a term for when two related words or terms are almost written
the same, except for the first and last letter?
