AFAIK never used in canon.

Trek trivia:

In 2365 Riker relieved Capt. Kargan as captain of the K'Vort-class cruiser Pagh when he was "behaving irrationally". (TNG "A Matter of Honor")

{Son} may appear in {SonchIy} the *Sonchi* ceremony, a death ritual confirming the death of a leader as part of the Rite of Succession to leadership of the High Council. The challengers - i.e. those who would replace or relieve him - confront the corpse and issue the ritual {no' Hol} challenge {Qab jIH nagil} "Face me if you dare" before poking it with a painstik to verify death. (TNG "Reunion")

Related verbs:

cho' succeed (to authority)
gheS assume duties of, take on responsibilities
Sugh install (in office)"
moj become
