speersd ([email protected])

This is the Klingon Word Of The Day for Friday, February 9, 2007.

Category: General

Klingon word: pa' beb
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: ceiling
Source: HQ (8:3 p2)
Swedish: innertak (i ett rum högst upp en byggnad eller konstruktion)

Additional Notes:
HolQeD 8:3, p. 2, {matlh juppu' mu'mey}. There are two special terms for the top of a room, or "ceiling." {rav'eq} refers to the ceiling of any room (though, more narrowly, it refers to the ceiling of a room that has a room above it, as in a multistory structure); {pa' beb} refers specifically to the ceiling of a room which is on the top (or only) story of a structure. It is possible to use the term {'aqroS} to refer to the ceiling, though the other two terms are more common.

Synonyms: rav'eq
