Whether I like the meaning or not is irrelevant.  I don't like that you
*gave it a novel meaning* in the first place.  If it already has an obvious
meaning (which you admit that it does), you're stepping out of bounds as a
student of the language and taking on the role of creator when you "give" a
word an unobvious meaning.  That you're getting defensive about the word
instead of recognizing the issue makes it that much more of a problem.

The criterion for appropriateness shouldn't be whether or not anyone likes
the meaning you propose.  The criterion should be whether or not people can
understand it in Klingon before you explain it in English.  In this case, I
don't think your suggestion succeeds.
