... that is, "fall down" or "fall off of something"
   [st.klingon 11/05/1999]

As used in canon:

   bIpum
   You fall. (STC:KLS)

   Dubotchugh yIpummoH
If it's in your way, knock it down. (TKW)

There's an idiomatic expression {pumDI' (X)} "by then, by that time"
(literally "when [the X] falls") which Okrand explained on st.klingon
(11/05/1999). Some, but not all, variants include:

   pumDI' 'etlh
"when the blade falls" [the most common]

   pumDI' DaS
   "when the boot falls"

   pumDI' 'obmaQ
   "when the ax falls"

   pumDI' nagh
   "when the stone falls"

   pumDI' rutlh
   "when the wheel falls"

In context, this would be:

tagha' pawpu' meb 'ach pumDI' Heghpu' qagh
tagha' pawpu' meb 'ach pumDI' 'etlh Heghpu' qagh
"The guest finally arrived, but by then the gagh had died."

Cf. also {chagh} "drop", {ghIr} "descend" and {lu} "fall (suffer loss of
status), fall from power".
