I've lately been more and more appreciative of the slide rule, since I work in network security (hard to find a more reliable and secure computer than a slide rule!).
I've adapted a web based emulator created by Andrew Nitikin, who made a customizable emulator which lets you create your own slide rule using an extensive set of scales: I am still customizing this for my Klingon purposes. Andrew's original version is here: http://www33.brinkster.com/nsg21/slide/sryae.htm. This seems to work only with IE or Opera 7. (It may work in some Netscapes)
My special addition is the Klingon rule, based on DloraH's excellent investigations into the ancient Klingon mathematics. His brass Slide Rule is here: http://www2.rpa.net/~cheesbro/mi.htm.
I used DloraH's original artwork, but the shrinking of it has made the rule *somewhat* unreadable. I hope to do better eventually.
