i don't think so.  my "webster's third new international dictionary" doesn't 
give a form with initial "n-" until you go back to the old arabic "naranj" 
which gave old provencal "auranja", long before the english word came into 
being.  
on the other hand, aprons and adders used to be naprons and nadders, a middle 
english result of incorrect division of 'a napron' and 'a naddre'.
