Actually, I always thought that they were both long "o" sounds, and the "t"
was silent. The first "g" is, of course, not possible to represent in
Klingon, and /gh/ isn't particularly close. Okrand typically turns English
hard "g" into /q/ (e.g., /qagh/ = "gagh").
