How would you translate DujDaq jIHtaH, or tlhIngan jIH ?
The first one has a verb suffix on it. The second sentence... no wait, that's
not a sentence, there's no verb; "klingon me". Here jIH is translated as "I
am..."
You're restricting jIH to being a noun. It is a leftover.

I think jIH is closer than jItaH in this case. jItaH sounds like I am able to
survive/endure because I am thinking; as apposed to someone that is being
stupid and ends up dead because they didn't think about what they were doing.

I agree here. I've never liked seeing vaj after -chugh. vaj is defined as
more than just "then". Sure, many times the sentence does work; but to me -
chugh doesn't need it. It's redundent.
