Grammar Highlight Each Day

This feature can only improve, now that others are providing input. Learning
Klingon can and should come from many sources. Using Klingon should be more
than practicing one word of the day and/or one grammar highlight each day.
We all can use Marc Okrand's books to our advantage. For grammar, of course
the Klingon Dictionary is clearly helpful. Meanwhile, even when help comes
from people to make sure the Klingon grammar is presented accurately, I will
continue the grammar highlights. I believe these highlights can be tools for
beginners. There has been enough positive feedback, too.

Today's feature is: There are numerous verb prefixes which indicate who is
doing the action of the verb to whom. The verb pronominal prefix wI- means
"we --> him, her, it." Be aware that the object of the sentence MUST be
singular. Do not use wI- when the object of the sentence is plural.

Examples: paq wIje' = we buy a book.
paq = book (noun)
wI- = we --> him, her, it (verb pronominal prefix)
je' = buys, purchases (verb)

More sentences: jagh wIlegh = We see the enemy. (jagh = enemy; legh = sees)
puq wIghaj = We have a child (puq = child; ghaj = has)
Suy wItlhej = We accompany a merchant (Suy = merchant; tlhej = accompanies)
targh wIqIp = We hit the dog-like animal (targh = dog-like Klingon animal;
qIp = hits)
nov wIchopbe' = We do not bite the alien (nov = alien; chop = bites; -be' =
does not)
