"I pour the ambassador a drink" is a leftover or Latin grammar that has
spread over all of Europe. In Dutch you can say this too: "Ik schenk de
ambassadeur een drankje [in]". The ambassador in both sentences however
is not 4th case Objective, but 3rd case Adjective. In German when using
this construction it is obvious: "Ich gieße dem Ambassador einen Drink".
"dem" indicates a 3rd case (Adjective), "einen" indicates a 4th case
(Subjective). In Klingon, if Klingon grammar can be at all similar to
Earth's grammar (and considering that Suomi does it the same way Latin
does ....) it should equally obvious, because the Ajective is formed
with a type 4 suffix. (Catch my drift?)
Disclaimer: I'm only a beginner with Klingon, but I do know my share of
languages :)
