bIlughbej. Okrand has translated this Vulcan salute two different ways, but
the other version didn't use {taH} - which we were discussing. The British
television magazine Radio Times, doing a special for Star Trek's 30th
Anniversary (August 1996), got Marc Okrand to translate a few "Handy Klingon
Phrases" for its readers, including LLAP. Note that this later version is
done with a nice Klingon twist: "Endure a long life!" A long life is just
something to be endured, like pain:
'oy' DaSIQjaj!
May you endure the pain! PK
yIn DayajmeH 'oy' yISIQ.

As we know, Klingons don't particularly value a long life, preferring to die
gloriously in battle. "May you die of old age!" is probably one of the very
worse things you could say to a Klingon warrior. Were it not for {yIchep}
"Prosper! Be prosperous!" we might think that this was a curse wished on an
enemy - or a timid Federation citizen. {{;-)
