I agree.  {vegh} seems pretty clearly to be going through some sort of
aperture or opening, passing through a... passageway which was intended for
passage.  Passing through a forest isn't the same thing: it's going through
some chunk of real estate which is not specifically a passageway, not even
being used as one.  It's actually the *obstacle* if you think about it: the
fierce forest stood in her way, but she passed through it.  The fact that
outer space happens not to have any physical objects to speak of in most of
it is pretty much irrelevant.  It's not the opening, it's the medium.  I
wouldn't call a ship flying through space {vegh}.
