Sech vIlaj. 'Iv jIH?

I am Qov, also known as Robyn Stewart, and the newest in a chain of
individuals not skilled enough at saying <Qo'> to refuse the post of
Beginners' Grammarian.

I'm a 30-year-old Klingonist in Vancouver, Canada. Professionally I'm
an engineering librarian, with an undergraduate degree in chemistry
and a masters in information science. I started learning Klingon in February
1988, but abandonned the project until the KLI sent me a birthday mailing on
March 23rd, 1996. The timing was just right--I had quit my previous
obsessive hobby the week before--and on April Fools Day I joined the KLI and
began seriously learning the language. I attended qep'a' wejDIch and
loSDIch. A number of people spent time online with me helping me to learn
ta' Hol and now I owe something back.

Previous BGs have certainly influenced my style of Klingon and will
influence the way I teach. I will examine everything marked for my attention
assuming it is intended to be in proper Emperor's Klingon, and will try to
write in good ta' Hol myself. I will make errors and miss errors in things
submitted to KLBC: your corrections will be appreciated. I will try to be
polite and patient. I will sometimes get annoyed, bored, mean or insulted.
pebech.

As with previous BGs, mark work for my attention with a KLBC in the
subject line, and don't address another's grammar in a KLBC posting
until I've had a chance at it. Do take out the KLBC when the thread
topic wanders, include an English translation of what you believe
your Klingon means, and realize that under all my ridges I'm a human
volunteer.
