Re: tuH vs tuHmoH

<bItuH'eghmoH> DaghItlhnIS 'e' vIHar. The suffixes must be used in the
correct order: 'egh (#1) then -moH (#4) even when it may lead to a slight
confusion. If you really need to stress one suffix over another, then add
the rover suffix -qu' (which can be used anywhere). Cf. TKD: 48f.

But isn't bItuH'eghmoH ("you shame yourself") actually the same as bItuH
("you are ashamed")? Or are you thinking of bItuH*choH* ("you become
ashamed" or "you are beginning to be ashamed")?

FWIW, here are the attestations:

tuH shame (n.) (ant. quv)
 - [No attestations.]

tuH be ashamed (v.i.) ("Quality, to be embarrassed of oneself." MSN. Cf.
web; ant. naD & quv)
 - bItuHpa' bIHeghjaj Death before shame
("May you die before you are shamed.") PK
 - Dujeychugh jagh nIv yItuHQo' There is nothing shameful in falling before
a superior enemy
("If a superior enemy defeats you, don't be ashamed"). TKW
 - bItuHlaHbe'chugh bIquvlaHbe' If you cannot be shamed, you cannot be
honored. TKW
 - bItuHpa' "Before you are shamed" KCD/STK
[It's part of a toast: bItuHpa' bIHeghjaj. Possibly the name of a bar,
Gowron may be referring to it disparagingly, perhaps suggesting that "May
you die before you have to set foot in this shameful place." (Chiago)]

tuHmoH to shame (someone else?) (v.t.) (cf. web; ant. quv)
 - [No attestations.]
