You have trouble with my q's and Q's?  Always the last to know... like
having body odor or something. :)  Yes, I have been described as one of the
best pronouncers, for latecomers, and by none other than Okrand.  But I
suppose sometimes even I (and Dr. O) will get a little lax on a Q or a
little strong on the aspiration of q (after all, q *is* supposed to be
aspirated).

"Leakage" isn't TOO bad a word... until you nail the concept down a little
better.  In many ways, an affricate is like a stop that "leaks" into a
fricative.

Dare I say that Lawrence has always believed Q to be a fricative, but with
a different point of articulation than H? :)  At least he used to.  It
sounds affricate to me, though.
