Precisely what I was thinking.
Here we have a race on the verge of obsession with blade. They word for stylus
may even be "Blade of pIqaD."

I have been thinking of this I think that they would have strted using a
drawing system that used a knife llike stylus. It may have been spears in the
dirt at first, then daggers in clay, then a more manipulative stylus. I
think much like the sumerians may have used.
