Two items:

1) If you are making a reservation at the hotel do not call the 800 number for
Best Western or you will be informed that there are no rooms available.
Instead, phone 215/464-9500 and identify yourself as part of the Klingon
Language Institute, or simply as part of "the Klingon group" (do *not* just say
"KLI"). There should still be rooms available. If this fails, ask to speak
with Mia Martin, the Guest Services Manager. Mia has been very helpful (and is
quite enthusiastic about Klingons!) and should be able to plow through the red
tape or other nonsense that a more junior clerk working the front desk cannot
fathom. But, if you haven't made your reservations, you should do so soon.
Very soon.

2) For those of you that are flying into the Philadelphia International Airport
I have obtained information for a shuttle service to the hotel. I suspect this
is superior to (and far cheaper than) taking a cab. What follows is *their*
instructional email:

     SUPER SHUTTLE 1-800-246-0700 1-215-551-6600

ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS:

*UPON ARRIVAL AT PHILA. INTER. AIRPORT PROCEED TO BAGGAGE CLAIM AREA AND
COLLECT YOUR LUGGAGE

*YOU SHOULD THEN CALL US (SHUTTLE CO.) FROM THE GROUND TRANSPORTATION COUNTER
COURTESY PHONES LOCATED IN ALL BAGGAGE CLAIM AREAS

*DIAL 43 ON THE COURTESY PHONE AND ADVISE THE GUEST SERVICE AGENT WHICH
TERMINAL YOU ARE IN AND YOUR DESTINATION (BEST WESTERN HOTEL PHILADELPHIA,
11580 ROOSEVELT BOULEVARD...PH 215-464-9500)

*REMAIN IN THE SEATING AREA NEAR THE GGROUND TRANSPORTATION COUNTER AND YOUR
NAME WILL BE CALLED WHEN THE DRIVER ARRIVES

*FOR YOUR RETURN TRIP TO THE AIRPORT PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATION AT LEAST 24
HOURS IN ADVANCE

*COST PER PERSON TO OR FROM HOTELS IS; NORTHEAST $17.

I just confirmed the price with their operator by phone. In theory the price
drops for largers groups, which might be relavant for exodus to the airport on
Sunday, but that can be worked out at the qep'a'.

I tried to get the operator to tell me how long it takes a shuttle to show up at
the airport after the call is placed but she was too clever to committ. Her
vague answer was, depending on weather, traffic, etc, around an hour. This
seems a bit excessive to me, and so while you're waiting for your luggage to
actually show up you might want to go ahead and place the call.
