Yeah, Any postulated prog lang. used many hundreds of years hence would have a large
element of natural language processing/automation built in (Klingon, Human, Ferengi etc.)
It brings us back to the thread of Klingon farmers et. al.
The stereotypical programmer Geek doesn't fit well with the image of a Galaxy conquering
warrior race now does it, and yet, these odious tasks have to be performed.
On the same basis there must be Klingon Dustmen (garbage technicians), Sewer cleaners
(thixotropic endphase material consultants) and even Cooks (despite replicators -
Replicated ghagh anyone ?, No I thought not. - There is even evidence for this DS9).
As has been written on this list a short while ago, computers, even now, can make a better
job of programming computers (a little tongue in cheek there !) - Particularly in safety
critical areas - such as Starship control, navigation and weapons control !
And as was also stated, we can't even devise a prog. lang. which we can use English
efficiently with (yet ?) !
Even Gates' (American English) ! - I admit it, I only said that 'cos some of
you thought I was "having a go" at
American English last week !
No offence intended ! - JUST STOP SENDING US OPRAH &
SEASAME STREET - PLEASE !!!!!
Oh, and while I'm ranting away at my wish list, can we photon (big time) all the Aussie
Soaps that we ahve to endure ?! - PLEASE !
[SLAP] Sorry,I seem to have gone a bit off thread there !
Time to go and practice my betleH !
