Re: God's name

All this discussion about God's name... You need to remember that there is a
difference between god and God. <god> with a small 'g' is the word that
pertains to any god figure. <God> with a capital 'G' is the proper name of
the entity of christian religion. Lately there have been discussions about
people trying to come up with klingon names for themselves. Many repleyed
that your name is your name no matter what language your speaking. In
England, John would say that his name is John. In China, John would still
say that his name is John. And I don't think that anywhere would his name
be 'toilet'. So when refering to God, proper name from the christian
religion you should use <ghoD>. In the translations of the Bible that I have
written, I use ghoD for God. When refering to other gods, like the Greek
and Roman gods, then you have to debate what to use. <qa''a'> seems good.
As for Kahless, there may be some klingons out there that view Kahless
as a god (small g), but he is not God (capital G). Worf on DS9 stated that
klingon warriors long ago killed their gods. The closest religous figure
for Kahless could be a messiah. Kahless needs no other label other than
Kahless the Unforgettable.
Other religions on Qo'noS may have other qa''a'pu'. Tera'ngan
missionaries visiting Qo'noS would preach about ghoD.
