Hamlet, coming to a store near you?

Yesterday, an old friend of mine who lives in New York and is involved in the
Science Fiction publishing business was able to put a copy of the KLI's Hamlet
into the hands of John Ordover.

John, for those who don't know, is the Star Trek editor at Pocket Books. I am
told that he was completely delighted with the book, and very impressed with the
production values. That was yesterday.

Less than an hour ago John phone me to tell me how much he liked the book and to
let me know that Pocket Books is interested in publishing a trade paperback
version. Of course everything is still up in the air until the lawyers and the
"powers that be" at Paramount can review the idea, but as things stand they
apparently want to do it. Now we sit and wait (probably about two months) until
we get the okay from "on high."

This is very exciting news. If Pocket Books does indeed go ahead with a trade
paperback, then this fine book that Nick and Guido and all the rest worked on
will be in book stores all across the country. It won't bring in much in the
way of revenues (royalties for such things are pretty low), but it will spread
word about the KLI and bring us a great deal of attention.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Lawrence
