House of Quark

Well, I just watched the newest DS9 episode, "House of Quark", which did
have a fair amount of Klingons, if not Klingon, in it.  Caught a few words;
some badly-pronounced "Qapla'"s, a "jol yIchu'" that was close to
comprehensible, even something that could have been "yap" from Gowron (it
would have made sense). There was also a wedding ceremony which sounded
like it might possibly be legitimate tlhIngan Hol, tho I couldn't make out
a word with certainty (but heard nothing that was obviously inconsistent
with mispronounced Hol). I don't doubt we'll be deluged with a million
discussions about that over the next few weeks.

It occurs to me, though: The actor who plays Gowron, they say, pays a
certain amount of attention to his Klingon, talking it over with Okrand,
etc. He certainly was the best speaker on the commercial. And Paramount
is using him. If we can't get Paramount to call on us for Klingon
translations and they insist on gibberish, maybe we can contact him and get
him to call on us when he can't get Okrand. Sort of going over Paramount's
heads.  Lawrence, whaddaya think?
