I'm a novice in tlhIngan-Hol but know a couple of other languages.
Some speech uses circumlocutions like "having X" for accompaniment
(e.g., "with X") ... so commonly in classical Greek. The suggestion
noted earlier, roughly equivalent to "I used a knife to kill the
Ferengi", to function as the instrumental, works similarly. One might
also offer "not having X" as an option for the abessive "without X".
Furthermore, I protest the requirement that all discussion be only in
tlhIngan-Hol or in English. This is neither the letter nor the tenor
of the original "how-to-be-nice-on-this-list" message that I originally
received upon joining. Als Amerikaner kann ich doch nie glauben, wie
ganz beschraenkt und eng die Weltanschauung der meisten Amerikaner ist!
Man lernt keine Sprachen, die taeglichen Nachrichten gehen nicht weiter
als die Kuesten dieses Kontinents, und die Herren des Internet-Netzes
befehlen uns jetzt, nur die OFFIZIELLE Sprache zu benutzen! C'est tout-
a-fait triste, de voir telles actions incomprehensibles!
