Just one comment:

An initial glottal stop (as in 'eH) is no more silent than the b in "bed"
is. If you don't believe me, try saying "jIjegh" and "jIj'egh" and seeing
the difference, or "SumIp" vs. "Sum 'Ip". Yes, I know that the
syllabification in those is different, but even if you pretend that SumIp
is "Sum"+"Ip", it still isn't "Sum 'Ip".
