I oversee a government contract that supplies audiobooks to the blind and physically handicapped. We’re working on a book by Arika Okrent titled In the Land of Invented Languages: Adventures in Linguistic Creativity, Madness, and Genius. Klingon is one of the languages referenced in the book and some words have come up that are proving to be elusive. If anyone could help with the pronunciations it would be greatly appreciated!
qep’a’ – I found “KEP-AH” somewhere, not sure if this is correct.
taghwI’ (beginner) – No clue.
ghojwI’ (intermediate) – No clue.
po’wI’ (advanced) – No clue.
For now this is it. There may be more that come up but I figured I’d toss these out.
Thanks for your time.
If you know IPA the “Sounds of Klingon” page lists the IPA symbols for each sound. It also describes each sound in the language and compares them to sounds in various Earth languages.
Beyond that, the only way I can think of helping you is to record the sounds. I’ve made a recording of each word you listed: https://soundcloud.com/qurgh/qepataghwighojwipowi
