Hi,
My name is Naama and I currently live in Israel. I am an avid Klingon fan and a language fan in general, and would very very much like to become fluent in the warriors tongue. I hope to even one day teach this wonderfully elegant language to others.
I am a blind person, and use a screen reader to accesss materials, brows the internet ect. Needless to say that currently there is no screen reader which includes a Klingon speech synthesiser, and no Braille code. If I manage to learn Klingon, I plan on exploring options for both. I do, however, require assistance in learning Klingon, as you can imagine that when an English speech synth tries to pronounce the language, the result, while amusing, is not accurate by any means. I was wondering if and how I can find some assistance or options for a one-to-one session, or a few sessions where I can get some guidance aabout the materials and pronunciation. I am happy to use Skype, Facetime, Cloud Meeting, or any other chat client. I would also, if necessary, be willing to pay for this. I have already subscribed to a lifetime membership on kli.org as well.
My e mail is naama@quitelikely.com, please contact me if you have any ideas or suggestions.
Thank you and Qapla'!
If you have access to an Amazon Echo device, there is a Klingon Dictionary skill that can look up the translations of words, pronounce the Klingon correctly, and give the spelling of the word.
On the web, https://hol.kag.org/ has the ability to say words correctly. On Android, the app boQwI' has a Text To Speech plugin that can also say the words. Both these systems use the same audio files, so they are consistent, and the audio is produced by an experienced Klingon speaker, so it's known to be good.
