      I think that¬†‘agh assumes agency on the part of its subject, like “check out what my shadow can do.”

      I really like Rhona’s suggestions; the double-meaning of nargh is very poetic:

      The afternoon sun makes the buildings cast shadows.

      lit. The afternoon sun makes the buildings’ shadows appear/escape.
