Perhaps one would simply use the word {pIH} "expect" here? Or maybe there's something more specific?
Expectation seems future-oriented, or at least future-oriented in the confirmation of the expectation.
Assumption on the other hand, is not temporally oriented, and need never be confirmed or disproved at all.
"Aristotle was Alexander the Great's teacher, so some historians assume he was a gifted student."
To use "expect" here seems odd, because no proof of this seems forthcoming.
I don't think we could use {pIH} in a mathematical proof the way we use "assume", for another example.
