{QopchoH} "become worn out" could perhaps be used in the context of colored garments, etc.
I think both of those uses of "fade" can be expressed well with the Klingon word {ngab} "vanish".
What do the experts think about "tab" for "fade"?
{tab} refers specifically to the phases of the moon. In any other context, it would be metaphorical or poetic usage.
