"Klingon writing system." Officially it refers to a writing system which native Klingons use, but of which nothing is known to humans. However, many Klingonists use it to refer to an arbitrary correlation of Klingon style symbols (received by the KLI from an unnamed Paramount source in the Institute's early years) to the alphabet used in The Klingon Dictionary.
