(First, it's 'ev, not 'em.)

After reading the subject, but before reading the message, I thought you were going to ask how to
describe the directions of movement, and I immediately thought, "Well, duh. chan, 'ev, and tIng."

Initially I liked the idea of the emtpy corner being chan. The Klingon trifoil with the red circle
behind it, I have always viewed as a compass rose pointing east to the rising sun. But as I looked
at my board, and turned it in various directions, if I put the corners at chan 'ev and tIng, it
became difficult to describe the directions of movement.
With a corner at chan...
One can move tIngDaq, and in the opposite, tIngvo' perhaps.
One can also move 'evDaq, and 'evvo'.
But the third possible direction is in what we would call North and South. And such a combination
as chan-'ev isn't really North, it's closer to, well, tIngvo'.
Hmm, I suppose while one is facing chan they could describe their motion as left or right (poS,
nIH). chan poS and chan nIH. Hmm, when written in Klingon it looks like chan's left and chan's
right; so instead of facing chan, one would be AT chan and facing the board, looking at the
battlefield and moving left or right.

Perhaps to be consistant, all movement could be described as left or right while viewed from a given
corner. Instead of tIngDaq and tIngvo', it could be described as left or right while viewed from
'ev; 'ev poS and 'ev nIH.
The lines that run from chan to 'ev, you view from tIng and use tIng poS and tIng nIH.

From each players' point of view, the two other corners are at his poS and nIH.

One could even get specific and include the row number when counted from that corner. Nine rows for
each direction.
A piece on the sixth row from chan, "I move chan 6 poS, three spaces."
