I'd keep the traditional three levels as well - add a new level, below it. Make it the "zeroth level" of the testing, that would keep it somewhat within cultural bounds.
Think of the saying regarding the painstik and the zeroth step.
No pin for it, just the knowledge that you started the journey of the KLCP.
