FWIW, here's the (non-Okrandian?) definition for {Sov} supplied on startrek.com's "Star Trek: Continuum Klingon Compendium ("Klingon Linguistic Studies"):
Verb, to have knowledge of, or be familiar with. (KLS)

See also {jIv} "be ignorant"; no examples AFAIK. {ghov} "recognize" (v) might do for be familiar with [a place], but we have only two examples:
