Re: [Tlhingan-hol] Klingon Word of the Day: wep buq

Felix Malmenbeck ([email protected])

buq ghaj tera' <<kangaroo>> 'e' vIHar.
Dochvam Dellu'meH qarlaw' mu'vam ... 'ach jISovchu'be'.

Both {paq} ("book") and {buq} ("pocket") are likely puns on "pocket book".

...or perhaps on "Pocket Books", the division of Simon & Schuster which publishes most Star Trek books (including The Klingon Dictionary).

If so, Marc was playing the long game with this pun: The word {paq} was revealed in 1985, in the first edition of The Klingon Dictionary, whereas the word {buq} wasn't revealed until 2011.
