Used in canon:

   'o' chuyDaH Hongghor je
aft thrusters and impulse drive (KBoP)

Related nouns:

{'em} "area behind"; antonyms are {'et} "fore" & {tlhop} "area in front of".

(English) usage notes:

"The terms 'fore' and 'aft' are directions, not locations. 'Fore' means the
direction the ship is pointing, and 'aft' means the opposite
direction. Along with 'port' and 'starboard', they define a set of
directions relative to the ship." (ghunchu'wI')

"The bow is at the fore of the ship, and the stern is at the aft. 'Fore'
refers to the area toward the bow (the front of the ship), and 'aft' refers
to the area toward the stern. (They can also refer to something not on the
ship, but close to it: 'The enemy is fore of the ship', meaning 'The enemy
is in front of the ship.') 'Bow' and 'stern' refer to the actual bits of
the ship." (ngabwI')
