many/too much" may imply that the word is an Old Klingon term - meaning
something like "swarm of outsiders" perhaps? (Certainly {Hur} "outside" is
significant, if not {'Iq}.) If so, what they called themselves is still
unknown.
They call themselves "Kam'Jahtae," if you're meaning what the invaders call themselves. A little more on this race in case it has any impact on how people interpret this, the Hur'q adopted the name "Hur'q" (the H pronounced like in english not klingon, so, in klingon, it'd be ghurq). They adopted the names from the Klingons during the invasion.

The rumor tells that they actually capture Kronos and then they retreated because they couldn't handle the Klingon insurgents. (Remember this whole paragraph is a rumor.) So i'm guessing it happened before the time of Kahless. Knowing klingon nature, it would be rumored that perhaps once they got this pride happy thing into their culture, they worked to develop a space program to go and kick their @#*!.

(Back to what we do know) While the Kam'jahtae didn't adopt the name because they lied in stasis back in the Titan system. The USS Sentinal discovered a Kam'jahtae "Spine Vessel" and revived it on accident by removing an artifact on the planet which gave them headaches (and later ended up controling their minds). The crew went through the romulan neutral zone almost starting a war, informed the Hur'q (which at this point supposedly evolved) that their Kam'jahtae "predecessors" were alive and awake. This new technology was detected by the borg, which started "the borg incursion" (the incident where a borg cube was sent to earth in star trek: first contact) and many borg ships were destroyed by "Red Squad" lead by "Cooper" and Worf which before the incident at earth, he successfully lead his team to close a wormhole in which Hur'q flagships were comming through.

Note: this story line was made by star trek fans. This is considered official to a few because this information was proposed to paramount and they approved of it, then it was released as a game for the Playstation called "Star Trek: Invasion." During this game it appears a new Klingon cussword was introduced, but weather or not one would choose to recognize it is up to you, but it's official story wise. it sounds like "teqtaH" which could also be a literal meaning, but worf said it in surprise.
