speersd ([email protected])

This is the Klingon Word Of The Day for Wednesday, July 26, 2006.

Category: Adverbs

Klingon word: batlhHa'
Part of Speech: adverb
Definition: dishonorably
Source: KGT (211 KE, 240 EK)
Swedish: skamligt, med vanära

Additional Notes:
From "Okrand's Notes," HolQeD 4:4 p. 11. "The word for 'dishonorably' is {batlhHa'}. This is clearly the adverbial {batlh} 'in an honored fashion' plus a suffix {-Ha'}, which might be analyzed as the negative suffix that follows verbs or else as a suffix identical in form (and meaning?) to it, but which appears with adverbials.

Whether this {-Ha'} can be added to all adverbials is not clear."

Antonyms: batlh
