Discussed by Okrand:

Sometimes, the word {law'qu'} "be very many" ... is translated "be
too many." If the context is clear, this is acceptable, but if it's
important to stress the idea of "overly many, overly much, more than
there ought to be," {tlhoy} or {'Iq} is usually employed. (HQ 8.3)

The similar idiom {qabDu' law'} ("many faces") may be used to refer
to a group participating in a single activity. Thus, a brawl may be
described by saying {Suv qabDu' law'} ("Many faces fight"). (KGT 124)]

Related verbs:

Antonyms: {puS} "be few" and {yapbe'} "not be enough"

Related expressions:

   A Q law' B Q puS
   "A is Q-er than B"

and all its variants, which are too numerous to list here.
