Never used in canon.

Related verbs: {'Ip} "vow, swear".

For the noun, use {'Ip} "oath" (n.)

>Antonyms: lay'Ha'

Used in canon:

   not lay'Ha' tlhIngan
No Klingon ever breaks his word. TKW

Related verbs: {nep} "lie, fib"

WRT to "break" cf. {bIv} "break (rules)", {ghor} "break" and {wItlh} "break
(something) off".

Cultural notes:

The expression comes from the well-known story of Kahless the
Unforgettable, the founder of the Klingon Empire, and his
brother, Morath, who fought for the fabled "twelve days and
twelve nights" because Morath had broken his word an brought
shame to the family. (KGT 121)
