Yes, and this is only idiomatic.
Literally, a {qanwI'} could be "someone who uses little toe" (?), but certainly is an "old one",
as we have

{yoHwI'}"brave one": 
    reH Hegh yoHwI'pu''e' - TKW #90/p.123
    Always is it the brave ones who die.

 and

{pujwI'}"weakling": 
   pujwI' HIvlu'chugh quvbe'lu' - TKW #19/p.24
   There is no honor in attacking the weak.
