Never used in a sentence by Okrand.
Derived from the verb {leng} "roam, travel, rove". Cf. also the
homophonous noun {leng} "trip, voyage, trek, flight".
For obvious reasons, {lengwI'} has been favored by Klingon fans as a dog's
name. Glen Proechel, for those who remember him, sometimes used it as a
general translation for "dog", the Terran animal.

That's one common meaning. Another would be "traveller, voyager" referring
to a person. Thus, we can translate the name of the series as *{Hov leng:
lengwI'} or "Star Trek: Voyager" and the name of the Federation starship as
{'ejDo' lengwI'}, or - considering how its history - the *{lengHa'wI'}!
