My wife is called Stella. This name means "star" in Italian and Latin,
so I'm going to call her "star" while I speak Klingon.

Many people celebrate the birth of Christ during December. My family and
I also celebrated.

On the twenty-fourth, Stella's sister and aunt came to visit us. In the
evening, we gathered together and sat down to sing some songs and read
from the Bible.

On the morning of the twenty-fifth, we woke up and gathered in the
living room; we had a tree there and had presents underneath the tree.

Most Germans exchange presents on the evening of the twenty-fourth, but
we had always done so on the morning of the twenty-fifth when I was a
kid (because my father is English). Stella and I decided to continue
this practice.

So for this reason, we exchanged presents on the morning of the
twenty-fifth. In the afternoon, Stella's sister and aunt left again.

On the twenty-sixth at noon, my sisters and father and stepmother came
to visit us. We sat down together and ate; afterwards, we exchanged
presents again.

I got several books, a pair of gloves, and a dictionary. Stella got a
colour printer, among other things; she was rather surprised about this.
(A 'printer' is something which we can use together with a computer to
mark works and other data on paper. This data can even be coloured.)

In the afternoon, we had fun playing games and chatting.


[1] Not sure whether the "prefix trick" can be stretched like this. My
intention was to say "we gave gifts to one another", so I included an
explicit object as well as using ma-chuq "we-one another". If not, how
to express this? I don't think there's a way to say "one another" except
with -chuq, but we didn't give one another, we gave *to* one another, so
it'd have to be something that can combine with -vaD, presumably.
