HolQeD 12:4

Lawrence Schoen ([email protected]) [KLI Member] [Hol ghojwI']

Throughout the world it's that time of year when many people start wondering when their next issue of HolQeD will arrive. December is always tricky, what with the torrents of mail in the postal system. People always seem to have more hectic schedules, and contributors to the fourth quarter issue are particularly prone to blow their deadlines.

This year was no exception, and though we were running down to the wire, I still had a few tricks up my sleeve to make it work. Alas, the Fek'lahr has longer sleeves than I do.

I just got off the phone with the printer who handles HolQeD for us. More accurately, I was talking with his office manager (a charming woman), as he is on vacation and out of town. The ups and downs of the current economy has resulted in quite a few turnovers with this printer, and though charming the office manager isn't well versed in the specifics needed to put HolQeD to press without potential problems. So, rather than risk a substandard production job, I'll be holding off printing the issue until the boss gets back.

So, I have good news and I have bad news. Bad news first:

The forty-eighth issue of HolQeD is going to ship late. I'd normally wait until December 30th, and the glut of late holiday mail typically slows down the delivery anyway (domestically, HolQeD ships bulk mail), so I don't expect there to be all that much of an actual delay from when your December issue would traditionally arrive, but even so it's only fair to warn you all.

In the "silver lining" department, this delay gives those of you who still haven't renewed your memberships -- or haven't gotten around to joining yet -- to visit the Merchant page and take care of that little detail so that you get the next issue as soon as it's available.

Oh, wait, I did say that we had some good news though. Here's that:

When you do receive the new issue, you'll discover that Maltz has at long last come through with some terms describing some (though by no means all) bodily functions and fluids. Something to look forward to, I'm sure.

taHjaj wo',

Lawrence
